After graduating with honours from the Katowice Music Academy in the class of Andrzej Jasiński she was admitted with the highest score to the Trossingen Hochschule für Musik where she studied in the class of Victor Merzhanov. She has won prizes at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia (1982), the International Brahms Competition in Hamburg (1992) and the Polish Piano Music Festival in Słupsk, Poland (1992). She won a DAAD scholarship and a Ministry of Culture and Art scholarship.

Anna Górecka began concert activity still as a student. She has participated many times in festivals such as the Warsaw Autumn, the Polish Music Festival in Bydgoszcz, the Warsaw Music Encounters, the Festival of Polish Composers. In 1994 she made her debut at London´s Wigmore Hall with a recital of pieces by Schumann, Brahms, Szymanowski, Górecki and Ravel. She has performed at such prestigious venues as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bösendorfer Saal in Vienna, the Colston Hall in Bristol, the Moscow Conservatory (in a duet with the violinist Krzysztof Bąkowski), the Geijutsu Gekijo in Tokyo, the Osaka Festival Hall. She has toured Japan (1993 with the Sinfonia Varsovia, 1996 with the Silesia Philharmonic) and Britain (with the National Polish Radio Symphonic Orchestra).

Anna Górecka´s vast repertoire spans Bach to the 20th century, with a special interest in the music of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and particularly his Concerto Op. 40. Recently, she performed the work in Barcelona, Madrid, St. Petersburg (at the Hermitage Theatre) and Moscow.
