In 1993 he completed his vocal studies at the Warsaw Academy of Music (with Prof. Edmund Kossowski). In 1991 he won a special award for his performance of songs at the All-Polish Competition of Artistic Song in Warsaw. Two years later he was invited by the Ministry of Culture to the Concert of the Year for the best music students and prize-winners.

His repertoire ranges from medieval to contemporary music. He is particularly interested in early music.

In 1992 he made his debut in the oratorio part of Jozef of Arimathea in La Passione di Jesu Christo Nostro Signore by Antonio Caldara. Since 1992 he has been a soloist with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, with which he has toured Germany, France, Soain, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. In 1993 he sang the part of Christ in the Polish premiere of Paradise Lost by Penderecki at the Warsaw Grand Theatre. In 1997 he sang Lycomedes and Charon in the Polish premiere of Alceste by J.B. Lully (under J.C. Malgoire) at the Warsaw Chamber Opera.

Grzegorz Zychowicz has worked with the leading Polish early music ensembles: Ars Nova, Il Tempo, Trombastic. He has sung in the premiere recording of Piesni Kaliope Slowienskiej (The Songs of the Slavonic Calliope) by Krzysztof Klabon with the Trombastic and the newly-discovered works of Marcin Mielczewski with the ensemble Il Tempo.

The major opera roles in the artist's repertoire include Seneca in Il Coronazione di Poppea, Nettuno in Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria, Plutone in Ballo delle Ingrate by Monteverdi, Adonis in Venus and Adonis by John Blow, Sarastro in The Magic Flute, Il Comendatore in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini and Licomede and Charon in Alceste J.B. Lully.
